Intel has once again highlighted its upcoming developments in the client and data center space with new products such as Diamond Rapids, Coral Rapids & Nova Lake. Intel announced its financial results for Q4 2025, posting a revenue of $13.7b, which is down 4% year-over-year. CEO, Lip-Bu Tan, highlighted the ongoing supply constraints and said that they are looking towards stability by Q2+. At the same time, Lip-Bu offered a disclosure on the client & data center roadmaps and how they have adjusted them to meet the demands of their customers.
Starting with the server side, Intel says that Granite Rapids continues to ramp and has seen a great response from its customers. Older Sapphire Rapids & Emerald Rapids serve mainstream server markets, and now, the company is focused on its next-gen offerings, which include 16-channel Diamond Rapids Xeon processors. These processors are going to go all in on the performance route, and that’s one reason why the 8-channel mainstream variant has been taken off the roadmap.
Following Diamond Rapids will be next-generation Coral Rapids Xeon chips, which will bring back SMT support and bring back core/thread leadership for Xeon processors. We have also made decisive changes to simplify our server group map focusing resources on the 16-channel Diamond Rapids and Areas to accelerate the introduction of Coral Rapids where we can with Coral Rapids, we will also reintroduce multi threading back into our data center group map. We also continue to work closely with NVIDIA to build a custom Xeon fully integrated with their NVLink technology to bring best-in-class x86 performance to AI host nodes.
We are laser focused in a 16-channel Diamond Rapids, and we simplify the product group map. And then the other part is accelerate the introduction of Coral Rapids. And Coral Rapids will have, that we introduce the multi-thread into our data center workflow. So I think overall, we are very positive. The team is in place now. The group map is very clear, and we are very decisive on doing that. And then laser focus on the Diamond Rapids 16-channel, and also accelerate the Coral Rapids introduction.
Lip-Bu also talked about their recently announced NVIDIA partnership, where both firms will develop a custom Xeon CPU that integrates NVIDIA’s NVLink interconnect on the package. This will enable NVIDIA access to Intel’s x86 feature set while NVLink support will allow Intel to mix and match its Xeon SoCs in a wide-range of hyperscalers for AI, leveraging the latest Blackwell and Rubin GPUs. We also continue to work closely with NVIDIA to build a custom Xeon fully integrated with their NVLink technology to bring best-in-class x86 performance to AI host nodes.
On the client side, Intel mentioned its recent launch of Core Ultra Series 3 CPUs codenamed Panther Lake, which it says will be the “most broadly adopted and globally available” AI PC platform ever. As the first Core Ultra Series 3 CPUs start rolling out on retail shelves next week, the company also highlighted that it is working towards the next-generation Nova Lake CPUs, which arrive at the end of 2026 and bring best-in-class performance and cost-optimized solutions in desktop and notebook spaces.
Our client momentum was on full display at CES earlier this month where we formally launched Series 3 with our OEM partners powering over 200 notebooks designs Series 3 will be the most broadly adopted and globally available AI PC platform we have ever delivered Along with our next-generation Nova Lake coming at the end of 2026. We now have a client group app that combines best-in-class performance with cost-optimized solutions giving me confidence that we are on the path of fortified market share and profitability in both notebooks and desktops over the next several years.
For now, Intel’s first 18A product, Panther Lake, is looking really strong, and we hope the upcoming families offer more competition across all market segments since that is crucial for Intel to regain its dominance in the CPU market.
