Tablets have quietly evolved from mainly being used for entertainment into serious productivity and gaming machines. The Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro is clearly aiming for the latter. From the moment you look at the specs, it’s obvious that Xiaomi is targeting users who want flagship-level performance, a high-quality display, and serious productivity features in a slim and modern form factor. Today, let’s take a closer look at what it’s like to use the Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro.

Starting with the design, the Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro immediately impresses with just how thin it is. At only 5.75mm, this is one of the slimmest tablets you can get in its class. Pair that with its 485 gram weight, and you get a tablet that feels surprisingly light in the hand, even during extended use. Our unit feels solid and well-built with no creaks or flex when pressure is applied. The flat edges give it a modern and clean look while also making it easier to hold in both portrait and landscape orientations.

Whether you’re reading, gaming, or typing, the tablet feels balanced and comfortable. That said, because of how slim and smooth it is, I did find myself being extra careful when handling it. It feels premium, but also a tad bit delicate, so using a case is definitely recommended. Like almost every Xiaomi tablet, there are official accessories available like the Keyboard Case and the Focus Pen Pro.

The case magnetically snaps onto the tablet, instantly turning it into a mini laptop setup. The stylus also attaches magnetically to the side for charging and storage. It’s worth noting that the attachments rely entirely on magnets. While the magnetic hold is decent, it’s not strong enough to toss the tablet into a bag without a second thought. So, if you plan to carry the tablet, keyboard, and stylus all together, using a dedicated pouch or sleeve is a smart idea.

The tablet also doesn’t have any IP ratings, so it’s best to be more careful not to spill anything on this guy. Going back to the design, overall, it delivers a sleek and premium look that clearly prioritizes portability and versatility. Just keep in mind that once you add the keyboard and stylus into the mix, a bit of extra care and organization goes a long way in making the experience feel complete.

If there’s one area where the Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro truly shines, it’s the display. The tablet sports an 11.2-inch Quad HD IPS LCD with a sharp 3200 x 2136 resolution. Text renders sharply, images are detailed, and even small UI elements look clean and clear. This level of clarity really comes through when reading documents, browsing the web, or editing content. Not to mention, the screen runs up to 144Hz and this is something you feel constantly while using the tablet.

Scrolling through social media feeds, navigating the interface or switching between apps feel incredibly smooth. Animations look fluid and there’s a sense of responsiveness that makes the tablet feel fast even during light use. Despite having an LCD panel, color reproduction is superb especially with support for HDR10 and Dolby Vision. Watching movies and TV shows feels immersive with vibrant colors, deep contrast and punchy highlights.

Dark scenes retain detail without crushing blacks, while bright scenes pop without looking harsh. Brightness is okay with up to 800 nits of global peak brightness. The screen remains fairly visible in well-lit environments, but not so much under direct sunlight. Now, let’s talk about audio quality, because the display alone would not be as impactful without good sound. The Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro is equipped with quad speakers tuned with Dolby Atmos and they get impressively loud.

Volume levels are more than enough to fill a medium-sized room, making it great for watching movies or sharing videos without needing external speakers. What’s more important is that the sound remains clear even at higher volumes. Vocals stay crisp, mids are well-balanced and there’s enough bass presence to make music and games feel more immersive. It’s not replacing a dedicated speaker system, of course, but for a tablet this thin, the audio performance is genuinely impressive.

Audio separation is clean, and spatial effects are noticeable when watching Dolby Atmos-supported content. Altogether, the combination of high resolution, high-refresh display and loud, well-tuned speakers makes the Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro an excellent multimedia device. Tablets are rarely judged by their cameras, but the Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro still managed to deliver a respectable setup. On the rear, you get a 50-megapixel camera which is more than capable for scanning documents, taking quick reference photos or capturing notes during meetings or classes.

In good lighting, photos come out sharp with decent color accuracy and balanced exposure, and dynamic range is acceptable. While it won’t replace your smartphone camera, it performs well enough for casual use and productivity-related tasks. The front camera is where the tablet becomes more useful for everyday communication. It features a 32-megapixel ultra-wide camera, which is great for video calls.

The wider field of view means you don’t feel cramped on screen, and it works well even when you’re slightly off-center. For online meetings, classes, or video calls with friends and family, the front camera delivers clear visuals with natural skin tones and good detail under proper lighting. So, there’s that. Powering this tablet is the Snapdragon 8 Elite paired with Adreno 830 GPU, alongside 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.

This is a flagship-grade hardware, and it shows immediately in both everyday use and heavy workloads. In daily tasks, everything feels instant. Apps launch quickly, multitasking is smooth, and switching between productivity apps, browser and media players happens without hesitation. Even with multiple apps running in the background, the tablet remains responsive. Starting with Pokémon Unite, the game automatically sets itself to the highest graphics settings.

Gameplay is consistently smooth, with stable frame rates throughout matches. Team fights, fast camera pans and ability effects all play out without any stutters or slowdowns. The large display also makes it easier to track action on screen which is a huge plus for competitive matches. Moving on to a much more demanding title, Arknights Endfield. By default, the game is set to Very High settings and right away, performance is smooth and responsive.

Character movement feels precise, and combat remains fluid even during intense encounters. If you decide to push things further by increasing the FPS and Render Scale, the game will display a warning. Despite this, the tablet is actually capable of handling these settings with minimal lag. That said, for the best balance between visuals and consistency, it’s recommended to stick with the default Very High settings.

This ensures smooth gameplay without interruptions, especially when precise dodge timing and combo execution matter. Thermal performance is also worth mentioning. Even during extended gaming sessions, the tablet stays reasonably cool, with warmth spreading evenly rather than concentrating in one uncomfortable spot. This makes long play sessions much more comfortable. In AnTuTu V11, the Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro scored an impressive 3,083,606, firmly placing it in flagship territory.

Geekbench 6 shows equally strong results, with a single-core score of 2,940 and a multi-core score of 8,759, reflecting excellent CPU performance for both short bursts and sustained workloads. For GPU performance, Geekbench 6 recorded 17,657 in OpenCL and 23,637 in Vulkan, explaining why graphically intensive games run so smoothly. In 3DMark Wild Life, the tablet maxed out the test entirely. In the more demanding Wild Life Extreme benchmark, it scored 6,127 with an average frame rate of 36.69 FPS, showing strong sustained graphical performance.

For productivity tasks, PCMark Work 3.0 gave the tablet a score of 18,299, indicating excellent performance for document editing, multitasking, and general office work. Software-wise, the Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro ships with HyperOS 3 on top of Android 16, and the experience feels well-optimized for a large screen. Multitasking features like split-screen and floating windows work smoothly and are genuinely useful for productivity.

Paired with PC-class WPS and CAD support, the tablet starts to feel like a serious work device rather than just a media machine. Support for the Xiaomi Focus Pen Pro and the PC-class hover keyboard further enhances the experience. Writing, sketching, and note-taking feel responsive with low latency and good palm rejection. File management is fast, external accessories work reliably, and overall, the software complements the powerful hardware nicely.

Of course, the tablet includes suite of AI tools they call Xiaomi HyperAI. There’s stuff like AI Writing, AI Subtitles, and AI tools in the Gallery which are nice additions. In PCMark battery test, it recorded 12 hours and 57 minutes, which is okay considering the large, high-resolution display and powerful chipset. In real-world use, this translates to almost a full day of mixed usage, including gaming, media consumption, and productivity tasks.

Charging is handled by 67W fast charging that refills the tablet back up quickly and the inclusion of 22.5W reverse wired charging is a nice bonus for charging other accessories. Since this tablet has no SIM card support, connectivity is limited to Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. Now, onto our verdict. The Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro is a clear example of how far Android tablets have come. It delivers flagship-level performance, an excellent high-refresh display, loud and immersive speakers, and genuinely useful productivity features.

Gaming performance is top-tier, benchmarks are impressive and everyday use feels effortless. Since we don’t know the official price tag of the Pad 8 Pro as of making this video, it is kind of difficult to make a final call in terms of value. However, based purely on what it offers, this is shaping up to be one of Xiaomi’s most complete tablets yet. If the price is right, the Pad 8 Pro could easily become a go-to option for power users and creatives alike.

If you’re looking for a powerful Android tablet that can handle demanding games, serious multitasking and media consumption without breaking a sweat, the Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro easily fits the bill.
