Roborock graduates from vacuuming your house to mowing your lawn

The RockMow Z1 comes with independent hub motors on each wheel, allowing it to handle slopes of up to 80 percent.

Roborock Expands Beyond Vacuums With RockMow Robot Lawnmowers

The company’s first lawnmower lineup includes the flagship RockMow Z1, capable of handling slopes up to 80 percent.

Roborock, the brand best known for its robotic vacuum cleaners and mopping systems, is stepping outside the home for the first time. At IFA 2025 in Berlin, the company unveiled its debut lineup of robotic lawnmowers, marking its entry into the rapidly growing outdoor robotics market.

The launch includes three models — the RockMow Z1, RockMow S1, and RockNeo Q1 — each designed for different types of lawns and budgets.

RockMow Z1: Flagship With All-Wheel Drive

At the top of the lineup is the RockMow Z1, which comes equipped with independent hub motors on each wheel and a dedicated steering motor for the front wheels. This enables the mower to maintain traction and maneuver smoothly even on steep slopes of up to 80 percent (38.66 degrees) — one of the highest ratings in the consumer robot mower market.

Key features of the Z1 include:

  • Suspension system for stability on uneven terrain.

  • Blade system that cuts as close as 3 cm from walls and edges.

  • Satellite-based RTK navigation + vSLAM for precise yard mapping.

  • 5,000 m² mowing capacity per 24 hours (suitable for very large lawns).

  • Customizable mowing patterns — including the ability to cut text or designs into grass using the companion app.

With these specs, the RockMow Z1 is positioned as a direct competitor to Segway’s Navimow X3, while pushing boundaries on slope handling and cut precision.

RockMow S1: A Mid-Range Option

The RockMow S1 scales back some of the Z1’s premium features while still offering powerful capabilities. It includes AI-powered mapping, slope handling up to 45 percent (24.2 degrees), and the ability to pass through narrow spaces as tight as 0.7 meters.

Its mowing speed is slower, covering 1,000 m² per 24 hours, making it best suited for medium-sized lawns.

RockNeo Q1: Everyday Lawn Maintenance

For more casual users, Roborock is introducing the RockNeo Q1. This entry-level model focuses on routine lawn upkeep with AI mapping, 3 cm edge-cutting, and an eco-friendly touch:

  • A “wildlife-friendly” setting prevents the mower from operating at night, reducing the risk of disturbing nocturnal animals such as hedgehogs or rabbits.

This feature highlights Roborock’s attempt to address one of the major criticisms of autonomous mowers — their potential impact on local ecosystems.

A Strategic Shift for Roborock

The move into outdoor robotics represents a major diversification strategy for Roborock. The company has built a strong reputation in home cleaning robots, but the lawn care industry is still relatively new territory with significant growth potential.

Robot lawnmowers are especially popular in Europe, where large suburban and rural properties are common, and adoption is expected to accelerate as AI-driven navigation systems become more accurate and reliable.

By offering three models, Roborock is targeting different segments of the market:

  • Z1 – high-end users with large or sloped lawns.

  • S1 – mid-range, practical coverage for medium lawns.

  • Q1 – budget-conscious homeowners focused on convenience.

Availability

Roborock has not yet announced pricing or release dates for the RockMow series. However, given the competition from Segway, Husqvarna, and Ecovacs, analysts expect the company to position the S1 and Q1 aggressively on price while keeping the Z1 as a premium flagship offering.
